Marlin mission is an independently owned and operated brand, selling exclusively through our online store.
It all started in early 2024 when two brothers, Paul (electrician) and Lei (wine maker), figured there had to be better workwear options out there. They wanted to bridge the gap between function and style by making products that were stylish but are also made to be worn. They chucked their savings together and Marlin Mission was born. Every product we make is designed in New Zealand and embroidered in our spare room on the Gold Coast.
The Marlin Mission
There is a lack of self-expression within traditional workwear. Our mission is to reinvent work attire by blending classic contemporary styles with function in mind.
We’re committed to changing the narrative of workwear by designing products that people are proud to wear even outside of work. We believe theres a flow on effect, when you look good, you feel good. When you take pride in yourself you ultimately take pride in whatever you're doing.
Origin of the name
The English translation of Sa’ula (our last name) is Marlin. Honouring our family name we emphasise the importance of unity and support. We’re committed to building a community that feels like one big family.
In working class industries, suicide rates are among the highest. Our big goal is to create a space where working class feel safe to express themselves, whether it’s by what they wear on the job or by diving deeper and opening up without fear of judgement.
